Nimitz PTA Privacy Policy
Why We Collect Information from You
The first reason is to help us stay in touch with you and keep
you better informed about activities and events related to school.
The second reason is so we can build a stronger membership
list and community to serve the needs of parents, staff and students
of Nimitz.
The last reason is that electronic communications is far less
expensive than printed communications and the savings, which are now
free to go toward other school expenses, can be significant. By giving
us data in electronic form, it also saves staff time and money
re-entering the data.
How We Will Protect The Data You Submit
Some content you submit may become publicly accessible by others.
This may include comments, questions, surveys or explicit content
you submit. We will always try to let you know what will be public and what
will be private. For example some surveys may contain both public and private
data. We will tell you in simple words what we're going to do with data
you give us before you enter any.
The Nimitz PTA promises to never give your name, address, email or phone
number to any other organization for any purpose whatsoever, without your
explicit consent. This consent will always be explicitly an opt-in
process where the default will be to not give your information
out unless you took action to grant that permission to us.
The Nimitz PTA promises to never sell your private data to any
commercial organization for any purpose.
The Nimitz PTA promises to require that any private data you submit
will always be subject to an equally strict or more strict set of privacy
rules in any organizational re-arrangements, mergers, or re-incorporations,
and any inability to enforce this privacy policy upon your data will cause
us to delete your data.
The Nimitz PTA will never provide unprotected public access on-line to
your data. Specifically, we will endeavour to block web and email spiders
from ascertaining any data whatsoever, and we will always require a username
and password to read, create, or edit any personal data.
The NimitzPTA.ORG Portal stores most user data in cryptographically
strong reversible hashes. Likewise, any browser cookies that may persist
across sessions are also strongly hashed to prevent unauthorized access to
that data.
