STUDENT MEAL INCREASE FOR 2008-2009
The 2008-2009 student meal prices will be increased for the next school year to $2.75 per lunch. The increase was approved by the Board of Education at the April 8th school board meeting.

LOST LIBRARY BOOKS
The last day for students to use the library will be Friday, May 9th. All books must be turned in by Friday, May 30th.
Please take a moment and search under the beds and on student's bookshelves for any overdue books from the library or lost classroom textbooks. You will be receiving a notification from Mrs. Gallatin regarding any books that have not been returned. If your child cannot find the book, they will be charged for the lost book. Books are very expensive and we cannot afford to absorb the cost of lost or destroyed books. Students will not receive a report card until all library charges are paid. If the book is found after you have paid, your money will be refunded. Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter.

NEWS FROM THE ART ROOM
We are having so much fun in art class this year. Thank you for your support. We are still in need of egg cartons which we use for painting.

CUSD STRATEGIC PLAN 2008-2011
The Cupertino Union School District is in the process of developing the 2008-2011 Strategic Plan. This document identifies the main areas that the district will be focusing on for the next three school years. The Board of Education would like to solicit feedback from the community regarding the plan. Interested community members are invited to provide their input during two public hearings to be held on April 22, 2008 and May 13, 2008. Both of these hearings will be part of the regularly scheduled Board of Education meetings and will start at 6:30 p.m. The May 13, 2008 Board of Education meeting will be held at Collins Elementary School in Cupertino.

A draft version of the 2008-2011 Strategic Plan is available on the district's website at www.cupertino.k12.ca.us, or by calling Jeremy Nishihara at (408) 252-3000, Extension 323.
