ENROLLMENT FOR NEXT YEAR
Please make sure to return the enrollment form that was sent home
by Friday, May 18th. It is very important that we receive a form
from each family regarding your enrollment plans for 2007-2008.
This allows the school district and our school to determine our enrollment
numbers for the next school year. If we do not receive this information
from your family, we will be contacting you. Thank you for your
attention to this matter.
NIMITZ CULTURAL FESTIVAL
The Diversity Committee is planning a Cultural Festival to be
held Friday, June 1st at 12:30pm. We hope to have all cultures represented
via slideshow. If you can share a few slides introducing students to
your country, please contact Lisa Grubb at
eddgrubb@yahoo.com or call the school office with your best
contact information. If you have any form of art that can be displayed
on the GLC walls, please contact Susannah Vaughan at
pta@mrjim.com. We also need 3
parents who have digital video cameras and can assist with filming
during the rehearsals and the actual event. If you can volunteer,
please email digvid@nimitzpta.org.

The Cub Scouts is an
organization that fosters character development, citizenship, and
physical fitness in elementary school-aged youth. The Cub Scouts
has a long and storied history of improving children's self-esteem
and confidence, while providing a supportive environment of peers
and adult direction. We are forming a Pack at the school for graduating
K-4th graders. Fifth graders can join Boy Scouts! If you cannot make
the information session, please contact Dylan Hendrickson at
408-280-5088 ext. 41 or
Dylan@SCCCBSA.ORG. Look for the flyer in this week's blue folder.
If you are thinking about ways to get more involved in your
child's classroom, and if you are a music lover, please consider becoming
an MFM docent. Call Cathy Lampman, our school's MFM liaison, at
650-854-5004 to set up a time for a classroom visit. Training for
docents takes place in the fall each year. It includes basic music
theory, songs and games, rhythm and movement activities, along with
lesson planning, and other classroom skills. Visit the MFM website at
www.mfm.org
HELP NEEDED WITH SOCCER
