Dear Parents,

Welcome to the new school year and thank you for your past support.

This year, the Nimitz PTA will be continuing the Direct Donation Appeal to raise the funds we need to provide programs that enrich and support the well-being of our children at Nimitz.

Once again, the Principal, teachers, School Site Council and results from the parent survey determined that the two areas, that have become integral parts of the overall educational experience at Nimitz Elementary, and that are in need of funding include:

  • Technology Specialist to work with all grade levels in the computer lab
  • Art instructor for primary grades
This year we also hope to fund:
  • Projection systems, monitors and a laptop lab
  • Books and magazine subscriptions for the library
  • School, First Aid and Emergency supplies

      In order to provide these and the other programs that support student learning, such as assemblies and curriculum based activities, the PTA needs to raise $25,000. Please invest in your child's education by contributing. Our goal is to achieve 100% family participation. Please know that any amount of support is very important and will be greatly appreciated. Our suggested donation is $150 per child. All contributions are confidential and tax deductible.

      An easy and effective way to double your contribution is to see if your employer has a matching gift program (like Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and others listed below.) All you have to do is fill out the appropriate form supplied by your employer and send it back to Nimitz PTA with your donation.

      Without your support we will lose these programs but by working together, we can guarantee that our children will have the enrichment programs that form an essential portion of their development at Nimitz Elementary.
