In an effort to better keep parents informed, the Nimitz PTA is attempting to publish Enrichment ACE class outlines online. After Class Extension programs typically run 5 weeks per session. There are two focus areas for ACE. Those classes that are funded by Federal Title I funds target at risk, low-income children and provide after-class education in the primary areas of Language Arts, Math and Science. These classes are available to kids who's families qualify by income need.

The other focus of ACE classes has been enrichment - exposing students to a variety of subjects such as Art, Music, Cooking, Sports, and Academics that are not necessary taught in standard K-5 curriculum. Costs are $25 per student per session to offset the costs for instructors and for materials. Some classes are taught by non-paid volunteers as well, and many comprise course materials provided and created by the instructor.

In an effort to keep parents more informed so they can prepare kids for these enrichment classes, we provide a partial list of syllabae. Current class schedules and changes are posted on the Nimitz GLC glass doors near the flag pole. Please note the time and location for classes. Some students are on a waiting list to get into certain classes, while other classes may be less impacted. One of Principal Dale Jones's goals in the coming years is to provide sufficient ACE classes such that all the kids who's parents want them to attend an ACE class will have an opportunity to sign up for an ACE class throughout the year.
