Dear Nimitz Parents:
The PTA is a professional nationwide non-profit organization with over
6 million members that is committed to the well being of our children.
It bridges the gap between homes and schools. Here, the Nimitz PTA
supports student welfare in a variety of ways. One way is by hosting
the Running Club, Red Ribbon Week and encouraging
participation in the national Reflections art competition.
As there is insufficient funding for programs, the PTA,
provides funds for Art instruction, Technology instruction, School Assemblies,
Books for classrooms and the library and Family Science Night.
Nimitz School has an English Language Development (ELD) program, and
as such, welcomes new immigrants from many countries. The PTA strives to
build a strong community through our
International Thanksgiving Feast and other events run by our
diversity committee. We also support Parent Education/Information
nights, host the
Family Welcome Picnic and other family fun nights throughout the year.
There are many ways to be involved in your child's life at Nimitz. You
can choose from dozens of volunteering opportunities.
You can also support the PTA's direct donation appeal by
making a financial contribution.
Please consider joining the PTA, but whatever you decide to do, you
will make a difference. On behalf of the Parent Teacher Association
(PTA,) I would like to wish both you and your child a successful school year.
Sincerely,
- Fiona Sadowski, PTA President
